Hi there!

Maybe for your itinerary in Nassau…

It doesn’t get much easier to get to Senor Frog’s when you’re coming from a cruise ship!
The only way you’ll mess it up is if you start to go in the wrong direction.
Once you get yourself going in the right direction, it’s pretty much just following the coast until you reach the restaurant!
So as long as you remember a few key things (more on that coming up), you will end up at Senor Frog’s pretty quick!

How do you know if you’re going in the right direction?!
Aside from taking a look at the map, there are a few visuals you can look out for once you’re in the Bahamas.
Before you get off the ship for your day in Nassau, take a walk around the open deck of the ship. (Do this for the view and pictures no matter what, and not just to get yourself to Senor Frog’s!)
On one end of the ship, you’ll see the famous Atlantis Resort.
And on the other end of the ship, you’ll see something like this…

The big prominent building with the orange rooftop in this picture is the British Colonial Hilton Hotel. Located at the base of the hotel on the water, seen on the left side of the beach, is where Senor Frog’s is located.
That’s where you want to go!
The street where you see cars parked in the picture is the path you want to follow. There’s a sidewalk that will lead you straight to Senor Frog’s.
To get you better oriented once you get off the cruise ship, you’ll see the Atlantis Resort, and this time it’s at ground level.

You want to make sure that you go in the opposite direction of Atlantis.
Once you’re on the sidewalk along the coast heading in the direction of Senor Frog’s, it’ll take you directly there!

Is it safe to walk around in Nassau?
It’s important to mind your surroundings and bearings no matter where in the world you go.
It’s also important to note that the U.S. State Department has issued safety warnings for New Providence Island and Paradise Island in the Bahamas. These islands include the locations of Nassau and Atlantis. These safety and security warnings are due to an increase in violent crimes and robberies against tourists.
This isn’t meant to scare you, but just make you aware! Don’t completely let your guard down just because you’re on vacation.
Is it safe to walk to Senor Frog’s?
Now, how about specifically for the area of Senor Frog’s?
It’s quite common for there to be 5 large cruise ships docked at once in Nassau cruise port.
This means that the immediate area of the cruise port, which includes the short path to Senor Frog’s, is constantly frequented with cruise passengers.
You will always be in an open area, and there’s likely nothing that will make you feel unsafe.
But again, mind your belongings, and mind your surroundings!

๐ Here are things you must consider packing!
- Swimsuit or swimming shirt aka rash guard
- rash guard: swim set for women and swim shirt for men
- Water shoes
- Waterproof phone case (so you can capture pictures of fishies underwater!)
- cheapo phone case OR waterproof camera
- I also have this "camera" wrist float to attach to my cheapo waterproof phone case so my phone won't sink to the bottom of the ocean in case I somehow let go of it. (Mine does stay afloat - test this for yourself before completely trusting it!)
- Swimming goggles or snorkeling mask set
- Reef-safe(r) sunscreen
- lightweight travel towel:
- walking sandals:
I also don't go snorkeling without a personal swim float buoy. Not only does it help to keep me visible, but it makes for a perfect way to rest out in deeper water! Oh, and it also serves as a dry bag so I can take stuff into the water with me.
Another way I have taken valuables into the water with me is to wear a travel money belt that I don't mind getting wet with salt water (it's not waterproof but I have several so I just use one of them) and then I put things in a ziplock freezer bag, and put that freezer bag in the money belt.
There are also designated waterproof waist pouches that you can store your valuables and take into the water with you.
